Anika Noni Rose, an American actor and singer. Best known as the voice of Tiana in The Princess and the Frog as the very first African American Disney Princess. Disney Legends identified the actress as one of their 2011 stars. Rose is well known for her character Lorrell Robinson, the character from Dreamgirls. Anika noni rose is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Her most notable role is as Tiana the first Disney African American princess in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in the year 2011. The same year, she was recognized for her role in Dreamgirls (2006), which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. In the Starz show Power she played LaVerne Jukebox Ganner. Her name has been praised for her theatre performances, such as her starring parts in Caroline or Change (2004) on Broadway in which her Tony Award was won for Best actress in a Musical.
